The Election & Halloween

Finished the flyer,
it's good.
I would have liked more time, I might have been able to produce something quite amazing.
Though this is cute, and I got it done.

----------------------------
The Election

I'll be voting for Bob Barr,
key reasons being,

• Wants to end the war
• Eliminate the Federal Reserve
• Eliminate the Dept of Education
• Significantly Reduce & eventually eliminate the Income tax
• Stop illegal immigration
• Pro Free Market
• Anti Big Government
• Anti Wiretapping
• Eliminate secret prisons
• Mustache & Pedo-esque

A good amount of issues that I can stand behind.

The rest of you can vote for your loving
Obama with his big socialistic government & wiretapping ways.

I can't vote for someone I don't really stand behind, due to fear of McCain.
I think it's time we educate ourselves as a nation.
Really delve into issues and not just vote by the tube.
Our problem is, the all power television.

----------------------
Oh and as far as Halloween goes.
Why do chicks slut up costumes?

Even girls who you think are normal,
show their true retarded colors come Halloween.
I will chuck a pumpkin at each and every slutified (if that were a word) costume.
sexy ghostbusters watch out, a pumpkin to your head!

Planned Parenthood

Before you freak out on me, I have gray areas with abortion.
Birth control is fine, early on abortion I don't have a problem with.
I'm not an ignorant, racist, extreme conservative.
Furthermore If you ask me, I think abortion is an issue for the states.
anyway...

So what's my problem with Planned Parenthood?

It lies within it's principal idea of Eugenics, which doesn't sit right with me.
The idea of controlling and tampering with evolution to produce a superior race of human beings.
Hitler was a strong believer of Eugenics,
it was the main premise of the holocaust.
Kill off the minorities, ill, disabled, & dumb, after all...
they're just messing up the gene pool.

I saw a news article (that I found amusing)
It stated that the democratic party was
urging the public to give donations to Planned Parenthood,
to stick to McCain and Palin.

So let me get this straight...
We're to support Obama by donating to Planned Parenthood
whose root goal was to get rid of racial minorities like Obama?

If you don't believe me just take a look at some of
Margaret Sangers (founder of Planned Parenthood) own words.

-----------
"The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
Margaret Sanger (editor). The Woman Rebel, Volume I, Number 1. Reprinted in Woman and the New Race. New York: Brentanos Publishers, 1922.

"Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race."
Margaret Sanger. Woman, Morality, and Birth Control. New York: New York Publishing Company, 1922. Page 12.

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."
Margaret Sanger's December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts. Original source: Sophia Smith Collection, Smith College, North Hampton, Massachusetts. Also described in Linda Gordon's Woman's Body, Woman's Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America. New York: Grossman Publishers, 1976.

"Eugenic sterilization is an urgent need ... We must prevent multiplication of this bad stock."
Margaret Sanger, April 1933 Birth Control Review.

Splendid Margaret, you're something else.

I'm horrible at drawing people in public

On my recent travels home I wanted to sketch people at the airport.
Then I remembered, It's very frowned upon to sketch people in public...
If you haven't tried it, I suggest doing so.
Many weird glares will be turned your way.

So I draw people super quick with their heads turned, and or people very far away.

okay from right to left.... some middle aged over weight lady with her luggage, a pretty girl all dressed up searching in her purse for a mirror... and then looking at herself with the mirror (a little too superficial), some guy on his laptop with a coffee, and then two people seated down chit chatting.

Concept Logo

Expirimenting with illustrator and some techniques,
made some concept logos.
I'm working on them more this weekend,
finalizing ideas.
The coffee one was just experimenting
with techniques to make logos more snazzy.

I'll be making more versions/concepts for my personal logo.
You know, minus the swearing bird...
suppose it could offend some people.
Plus, I think the bird thing has been over done
by illustrators across the globe... maybe gnome?

Threadless

Thought I should startup a threadless account,
considering all my new T-shirt designs.

Plus it helps promote, right?

Moose-Stache Revised

So I had a sketch of moose stache scanned in, which I didn't like to be honest.
This is much, much better.
Actually the first one was so bad, I can't bare to look at it anymore (consider it banished to room 101).
I need to adjust the lower case "h", it's looking like the letter "R" right now

Which leads me to my weekend adventures.
I galavanted through Pasadena & in the midst of it all.. grabbed a couple of books.

The first one being "Hand Job" by Michael Perry.
It's all about handwritten typography, I recommend.

See me demonstrate my X-ray vision, splendid.

The second one being "Art and Design of Gama-Go".
Nothing that will blow your mind away, but just fun character art.
I figure I can produce close to that quality of art, so it's good as a reference.

If you get both books I think you'll notice my moose-stache being heavily inspired by the two.

Beautiful Lies

Making a logo/album cover for a band called Beautiful Lies,
I don't make logos... ever.

This one just came to me.
Actually it took about 2 hours of brainstorming.

The main assignment given to me was to make an album cover.
It's to help my friend Chris Hansen with one of his projects.
He has to promote a band for his record label class.
So what better way then with some nice new art, right?
Hire up a designer and get em workin' on it.

I'm done with making things to how I think people would like them.
All I want is just to do my own thing and if people like that,
then they can hire me.
I'm not sure if that's the correct way to look at things,
but I make better art that way.

Refusing to make anything cheesy I had to think hard.
I made a list of what represents lies and beauty,
nothing good was coming to mind.

Then it hit me, an optical illusion!
It's a beautiful lie, and I can use it as a logo!

Then I looked up cool album covers, listed them down.

Placing the logo dead center on a flat background,
simple but perfect.

The only thing is the B is jagged, but whatevs.
I got the rest of the CD to worry about now.

That is if Chris and his group approve of this.
I actually gotta perfect it a little more, I quickly did it in illustrator.
