I finished my piece for my very first show,
and If you live in Chicago you should check it out!
The show is Monsters vs Robots - I chose Monster, obviously.
It's open October 2nd at the Oh No Doom! Gallery.
They're located on Milwaukee Ave.

I won't be there since I'm 3000 miles away.
That said, I will most likely be having another show in the spring & I'll attend that.

I love Chicago, cold but being a midwestern native I can handle it... BRING IT!

This is Quasar, I'm going to be making him as a plush.
I've decided to make plush mustache pals for my own fun.
Right now I'm setting his pattern up in illustrator, yay!

Ohio, Kentucky, Tennesse, Arkansas, Texas

Drove through five states In one day. Kentucky is where my family is from, tons of relatives (that I don't personally know) live there. I'm so tired from driving all day, just arrived in Dallas. Ate some good Mephis BBQ on the way down, I love meat. Rode awesome coasters yesterday in Ohio. All in all it's been fun traveling. Now I get to sleep for 3 hours and head to Austin, meet up with some friends and possibly eat more delicious BBQ.

Update: My hotel is truly magical, I could hear playful childrens laughter throughout my sleep.
When I awoke where once lay a barren land of countertop was now filled with breakfast delights!
My only rightful conclusion is that elves came in and went to town making a feast fit for a hotel guest.

Went to Cedar Point and got yelled at for taking pictures on one of the rides, this is what happens to outlaws.

Mad Bluebird

This is an illustration of a well known photograph called "Mad Bluebird".

I've painted this for fathers day as a gift to my dad.
He's always wanted a print of the photograph, and I thought i'd make him one.
I did think about actually buying a print, but I'm unemployed and dirt poor!

However, I think he'll be very happy with this copy :)

I love Ffffound

My vintage wood cube frame got posted up!
I sold it recently on my shop :D

As for updates,
yesterday I tried some screen printing.
I've got myself a little setup going, it's pretty rad.
Though I'm short on supplies so I have to go get some more.
I messed up with the first screen, but the second came out loverly.

I can't wait to get more supplies and start printing out a bunch of stuff!
Love the way it looks, nothing like it!

Went to the copy shop a few days ago to get a few prints.
Have to go back tomorrow because I've gotten 4 new orders,
but I'm gonna try a nicer print place.

I love having a Canon XS

I love coffee mugs...

My two favorite brands are Fire King & Mikasa,
took snapshot of most of them today.
I'm thinking about selling some of them, but It pains me!

I mean I use them and all, they make coffee taste more delicious... yum

I want to screen print

I don't have the funds.
So I made a really low end stencil and bought some yellow ink.
I didn't burn a screen...
I just made a screen out of an old frame from the
goodwill and then took some nylon stretch fabric and stretched it over.
I then drew in a little image and took some modge podge and filled in the negative space.

Easter Eve Beach Picnic

I've been working on cleaning up my blog.
Out with the old and in with the new, but  I couldn't quite bring myself to delete this.
It was Easter 2009? I think.... er... probably - moot point. Anyway It was Easter I was taking a hiatus from LA and living back at home in Michigan for awhile. I'm setting this up horribly, but point is it was a holiday and I spent the morning with my mom at the beach that I use to go to all the time as a child.

So you see? can't delete it - it was a special day.

Cicero

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot
survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable,
for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor
moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling
through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not traitor, he speaks in the accents familiar
to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he
appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He
rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night
to undermine the pillars of a city, he infects the body politic so
that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared."
- Cicero, 42 B.C.
